Based on recent observations, the large Swallowtail Heraclides androgreus (Cramer, 1775) is confirmed for St. Lucia and reported as a new island record for Martinique, where it was first observed in 2011. Reports so far indicate it is restricted to the south west part of the island. We propose several hypotheses for the arrival of this widespread species in Martinique. Specimens collected exhibit a strong polymorphism and cannot be easily assigned to ssp. epidaurus (Godman & Salvin, 1890) nor to the nominal subspecies.
